What is the difference between Wholesale Bulk Lots and Closeout Liquidation Auctions?
- Wholesale Bulk Lots Auctions; are inside price deals are as a standard slightly below wholesale price and varies from auction to auction but with “NO Reserves”. Depending on what the seller is aiming at accomplishing they are in complete control of the start price. Bidding is the same as a normal auction and winning bid is the buyer of the auction. Most Wholesale Bulk Lots Auctioning is for a period of 7 days and can be relisted up to 16 times. The seller has the option offered to them during the listing process they can choose to either auto relist or not.
- Closeout Liquidation Auctions; Closeout Liquidation Auctions are completely different and the suggested start price is $100.00 (One Hundred Dollars USD) with NO Reserves. Closeout Liquidation Auctions are on a "make an offer" basis and you as the buyer sets the price. Pricing is well under normal wholesale price or beyond “Rock Bottom”. As an example let’s say item x normally sells in the line for $1.15 per pc and the importer or wholesaler is over stocked with the item and needs to liquidate it. He/She may list the item for closeout liquidation at $100.00 or $0.15 per piece, this gives the buyer a chance to take advantage of the opportunity and either resells it as a promotion or take full advantage of the addition mark up. There is one catch; the seller has the opportunity of rejecting the “offer to buy”. So if your bids are too low you can miss out on the deal.
Our closeout liquidation auction platform is unique to most online auctions. We offer 2 methods of selling your closeout liquidation auctions. One by "standard bidding" the other "make an offer". Using our closeout liquidation auction you can list what items you want to closeout or liquidate without being known. Sit back and let “offers to buy” come to you. Why waste your valuable time when using our platform the closeout buyer or purchasing agent will be chasing after you! Our systems will give you more time selling positive cash flow items.
How the Closeout Liquidation Auctions Works:
You as the seller post your closeout liquidation and pay a flat fee for the listing. Closeout buyers view your deal online and make an offer to buy. There are no restrictions on offers. The closeout buyer can make an “offer to buy” for what ever price they deem the closeout liquidation is worth to them. At the end of the auction you receive an email letting you know the highest offer to buy. You select to accept or deny the offer to buy. You do not get to see who made the offer until you accept the offer to buy. The closeout buyer does not get to see who is offering the goods until they have been accepted. You, as the seller do not have to accept any offers but at least have the opportunity of choosing. The closeout liquidation auctions should be no longer then 7 day events and 24 hours after ending all transactions have to be completed. We do allow relisting, with no additional fee, up to 15 times although if your lot is not sold after the first listing you should review the reasons why it did not with us.
Sellers When Listing a Closeout Liquidation Auction:
It is important that you select the closeout liquidation auction. Then if you prefer you can choose either the "make an offer" option or standard "bidding" option when listing a closeout liquidation auction.
The only other differences between the wholesale bulk lots and Closeout Liquidation Auctions is;
In your listing you will want to show your regular selling price per pc along with the total value of the lot in addition to your MSRP or Pre Ticketed Price. These are shown on the listing page just above the MSRP information input fields.
Bidders can bid or make offers while the Closeout Liquidation Auction is open
Sellers can accept offers when the Closeout Liquidation Auction is open or when it is closed
When the "Closeout Liquidation Auction" is closed, sellers can accept offers or choose to award the item to the highest bidder
The make offers page is available for the seller through a link which appears as follows:
o While the auction is open, it will appear in the members area/open under each item’s title and also on the items with bids/offers page
o When the auction has closed, the link will appear under each auction’s title in the closed page from the members area
“Product liability insurance coverage has to be on file for both wholesale bulk lots and closeout liquidation auctions.”
Closeout Liquidation Auctions Buyers:
Using our unique system you can place “make an offer" to buy on any closeout liquidation auction.
The sellers will list the quantities, case packing, dimensions, weights, description, photos, and all other details pertaining to the closeout liquidation auction and includes for your convenience their “normal selling price pre piece” and a “total normal value for the closeout liquidation lot. This should provide you with enough information to make your decisions. Weigh carefully what the value of the closeout liquidation lot is worth to you before commenting to an “offer to buy”. You can loose your opportunity of buying the closeout liquidation lot to another closeout buyer if your “offer to buy” is too low.
“Offers to Buy” are NOT reversible so only make offers that you know you can and will finalize.

If your bid is high enough to take the lead in the auction a confirmation message will be displayed to you, however if your bid has not taken the lead be it due to a higher proxy bid or not meeting the reserve price you will be invited to make a further bid.
Should you decide to retract your bid this can be done via the “Current Bids” section of the member’s area.
You can also place a proxy bid, proxy bidding allows you to place your “High Bid”. At all times you will only pay the lowest required bid should you win the auction. For example, if the current bid on an auction is 500.00 you can place a proxy bid of 2,000. Should you remain the only bidder you will only pay 500.00. However should the item receive other bids the site will automatically re-bid for you (upto 2,000 in this scenario) to ensure you remain in the lead.
If the option is available you can use “Buy Out” to purchase the item immediately without having to place a bid. Some sellers offer such an option which can be used at any time until a bid has been placed over any applicable reserve price.
The “Buy Out” option will appear on the item details page, you will be asked to confirm your intention to buy out the item before the sale is concluded. Buy out’s cannot be retracted.
